Privacy Policy

RideReady ("we", "our", or "us") is a motorcycle license exam prep application operated by YL&D LLC. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

By using RideReady, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

Information you provide directly:

• Email address — Optional. Collected only if you choose to subscribe and provide it for invoice purposes. Processed by Stripe, our payment provider.
• Profile nickname — A name or nickname you create locally inside the app. This is stored only on your device and is never transmitted to our servers.

Information generated automatically:

• Device ID — A randomly generated identifier created and stored on your device. Used to link your subscription status to your device without requiring an account. It is not tied to your identity, hardware ID, or any personal data.
• Subscription status — Whether your device is subscribed, your subscription period, and the referral code used (if any). Stored on our servers to verify access.
• Quiz progress and session history — Stored locally on your device only (browser localStorage / app storage). This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to us.

Information we do NOT collect:

• Real name, physical address, or government ID
• Location or GPS data
• Contacts or phone book
• Camera, microphone, or files
• Behavioral analytics or usage tracking
• Advertising identifiers (IDFA, GAID)

2. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

• To verify and manage your subscription access
• To process payments and issue receipts (via Stripe)
• To restore your access if you change devices (using your Device ID and email)
• To respond to support requests
• To calculate influencer referral commissions (if a referral code was used)

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. PAYMENT PROCESSING

All payments are handled by Stripe, Inc. We do not store your credit card number, bank details, or any payment instrument data on our servers. When you subscribe, your email and payment details go directly to Stripe's secure platform.

4. DATA STORAGE AND SECURITY

• On-device data (profiles, quiz history, progress): stored in your device's local storage. Only you can access it. Clearing the app data or uninstalling the app removes it permanently.
• Server-side data (subscription status, Device ID): stored on Netlify's infrastructure, which is hosted on AWS with encryption at rest and in transit.
• We use HMAC-signed tokens for temporary access codes and enforce HTTPS on all server communication.

5. DATA RETENTION

• Subscription records are retained for as long as your subscription is active, plus up to 45 days after it becomes inactive (for support purposes), after which they are automatically deleted.
• On-device data is retained until you clear it or uninstall the app.
• If you request deletion, we will remove your server-side data within 30 days.

6. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

RideReady is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately.

7. YOUR RIGHTS

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Withdraw consent at any time

8. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

RideReady uses the following third-party services:

• Stripe — Payment processing (Privacy Policy)
• Netlify — Hosting and serverless functions (Privacy Policy)

We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any advertising networks.

9. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
